Steven
Sielski
Steven Sielski was named the P&BA 2011 Man of the Year. The
announcement was made at the General Membership Meeting on March 1, 2011.
Steve has been an active member and supporter of the P&BA for the past 61 years.
Steve became a member only five years after the directors held their first board
meeting after our Association assumed its current name in 1945. Steve is in an
enviable position to be able to share with a majority of our membership the
history of the P&BA during the 1950's and 1960's.
Steve is a lifetime member of the Chopin’s Singing Society. He is also a member
of the Quo Vadis and Villa Maria Choral, actively representing Polonia while
entertaining the public within the community. Steve is also a member of the
Polish Arts Club, the WNY Friends of the Canadian Opera Company and the Polish
Union of America, where he served as its former Treasurer.
Steve met his wife, Doris, at Purdue University where they graduated in 1947
with B.S. Degrees in Pharmacy. After graduation Steve became a pharmaceutical
salesman with Eli Lilly & Company where he enjoyed a successful 38 year career
and retired in 1987. Steve and Doris will be married 62 years and have six
children and five grandchildren. Along with his passion for music, Steve enjoys
traveling, skiing, swimming, fishing and golf.
Richard
Milewicz
Richard Milewicz was named the P&BA 2010 Man of the Year, the
50th Man of the Year in the history of the organization. The announcement was
made at the General Membership Meeting on March 2, 2010.
Dick Milewicz has been a member of the P&BA since 1998. He
immediately became pro-active and has since made numerous contributions to our
Association. He served on the Board of Directors for 10 years. Dick served
as President in 2001 and 2002 and held other Board offices during his tenure.
While serving as President, he made numerous contributions to our association.
He assisted in maintaining our financial stability and improving our
organization’s programs. Under his direction, contributions to a variety of
community projects were increased. Our Man of the Year served on numerous
association committees, including the P&BA’s 100th Anniversary Celebration. Dick
also chaired many of our successful events.
Outside our association, the 2010 Man of the Year is a member of the American
Institute of CPA’s and the New York State Society of CPA’s. Richard served as
president of the Clarence Rotary Club and the Cheektowaga Jaycees. He also
served as a Director of the Clarence Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as
Treasurer of the Clarence-Newstead Meals on Wheels Task Force and advisor to the
Clarence Rotary Foundation, Inc.
Dick and Fran were married 44 years ago and have two children, Richard II, wife
Melissa, and Darbi, husband Stephen Bykowicz. They have five grandchildren;
Zachary, Bradley, Cassandra, William and Lania Fay.
